bought this as the product desription said good alternative to other types of duvet. having used a few times now it is very light over ones body and almost feel like its not there which is good however i am elderly and this duvet does not keep me warm enough (being dec now) so have had to buy a 100% down duvet instead, i will use this as a summer duvet instead but am not impressed as this duvet is not cheap and had to fork out for a more better expensive down type which keeps me much warmer if i had known this i would not have bought this wool one for winter use it i believe says keeps you suprisingly warm but didnt find this in my caseyou cannot try these products out before hand so could not exchange it however i have since found supplier in sheffield called welovesleep who offer a 30 day trial on products which i feel is a much better deal and would recommended this to others especailly as this dealer in sheffield called me up and discussed my needs efficiently 9th Dec, 2012

This is my second order from Slumber and I am more than happy. The Jaspa duvet is so different from the everyday duvet,more eiderdown in feel but with an instant warmth missing in artificial fibres. I do tend to perspire a little during the night(sorry-its an age thing!) but this duvet does not have that clammy feeling in the mornings which makes such a difference. Dont yet know how it willl fare as the nights get colder but it just feels so different from the warehouse microfibre. Service is superb from the company;emailed on receipt of my order,emailed me about delivery time and then checked if I was happy with my order.Cannot ask for more. I could tell another story about a well known electrical outlet who claim to be the best but actions,and the goods they sell ,speak louder than advertising on TV. Thanks Slumber Slumber.

Having recently bought the Jaspa 500gsm Wool Duvet I am now sleeping really well. Together with the Tempur Contoured Pillow I am comfortable, just the right temperature, and not having to either stick my legs out of bed because I'm too hot, or use my husband as a hot water bottle because I'm too cold. Very pleased with the quality of this duvet. Only odd thing about it is the smell when first used - a bit like wet woollies! Got used to it now though. I love it. No complaints from husband either.

Does just as it says. Wanted the 300gsm for the summer but they have run out until at least October time they reckon, but thought would try 500gsm. So good compared with down duvets which just get me so hot and sweaty. Even though it may be just too hot in the summer, this is fantastic..... wish I had known about wool duvets years ago. All came really fast and packed up superbly. A+++. I am a cold sleeper and had a 15 tog duvet. Read about the Jaspa in DT and made order. Service was first class - no hassle and speedy. Item I am more than delighted with. Provides the warmth for the old bones without any weight. The heat is a 'dry' heat - old duvet at times made one sweat - akin to that nice toast feeling. Wish I had been aware of it before as it is superior to frathe, and man made fibre. Price is not out of the way either. Highly recommended. PS it does not go baaaaa during the night.

I do not usually review items but I am extremely pleased with the above duvet. My husband has Parkinson's disease one side effect of which is irrationally fluctuating temperatures (sensitive to cold or gets too hot). This is the first duvet in 20 years which gives him (and me as carer) a really peaceful night's sleep. I don't know what magic it does but suspect that it is very slightly rigid so doesn't envelop the body too closely smothering it in material. Weight is important and it is just right. THANK YOU and I am thinking of buying another as soon as I can get round to it.

I purchased this duvet for myself after getting a similar wool duvet for my son's single bed. I was after a natural-filled duvet with a high-quality cover, that would keep me warm in the cold winter nights without causing any uncomfortable over-heating. I had been looking at a different brand, but the half price offer on Jaspa was too tempting to resist. The product arrived in 3 working days (standard delivery). Like any other wool bedding items, the duvet did have a strong smell when I took it out of the package, but nothing that stopped me using it after airing it for a couple of hours. I would really recommend this product if night sweats are keeping you up. The moisture-wicking properties of wool really do help (make sure your duvet cover/sheets are also 100% natural fibre). The duvet does give instant warmth when I go to bed, although I do still get cold in the middle of the night when the heating comes off. However, I've now also purchased a wool-filled mattress topper, and the topper/duvet combination seems to have sorted that problem out. 29th Jan, 2011

is the duet stuffed with individual rows or is it just one full sheet of wool.I dont want it to move up and down and migrate from the top of the duvet.

I can confirm that the duvet has a diamond quilting constrution which ensures the wool filling remains evenly spread throughtout the duvet and will not move about.

 

Wool duvets are quoted as 300 or 500 gsm but this seems to exclude the weight of the cotton cover. What is the actual weight of these duvets? Thanks

We have weighed the 300 gsm and the 500 gsm King Size in the packaging.  Unfortunately we are unable to take the Duvets out of their packaging due to Hygiene reasons however it is a light cloth packaging.

The 300gsm King weighs approximately 3.320kg.

The 500gsm King weighs approximately 4.340kg.

I cannot wear woollen jumpers next to my skin because they itch. Is this likely to be a problem with a wool filled duvet?

I would confirm that the wool is covered in luxurious 100% Japara Cotton. You should also bear in mind that the duvet will also be encased in your duvet cover so your skin should not be in direct contact with the wool.

If you are still worried though I would recommend the Forgarty Best Nights Sleep Wool Duvet. This duvet has a polypropylene interlining which prevents the wool filling from migrating through the cotton outer layer.

What tog rating would the 500 gram wool duvet compare to?

Wool is measured in GSM (grams per square meter) and unfortunately does not have an equivalent tog rating. Tog relates to the warmth of a duvet. Wool is naturally temperature regulating and most customers find that despite the duvets GSM it will keep you at an ambient temperature throughout the year. Therefore the tog is not relevant with wool.

When choosing wool you should consider which weight of duvet you prefer.

What are the measurements of the double size Jaspa duvet please?

The Double size Jaspa Duvet measures 200cm x 200cm.

Please let me know the dimensions of the king and super king?

The king size is 225 x 220 cm and the super king 260 x 220 cm.

Can the king size (either 300 or 500?) be washed in a normal washing machine? I can fit a 4.5 tog synthetic duvet in ours (have to thanks to elderly cats...) so it's important!

Both the 300gsm and the 500gsm are machine washable at 40c.  The 300gsm is quite thin, but it would really depend on the capacity of your machine, we cannot guarantee it would fit.
